Bug Description

We moved translation statistic updating from a request-time activity into a periodic job (bug 877195), but during the process a bug crept in (bug 897565) which meant that some smaller projects which had correct statistics were not updated during a window. That means that until the translations in question are mutated (triggering a statistics update), they will report incorrect statistics.

Workaround: make a change to the translation with incorrect statistics and within a few minutes the statistics should be corrected.

cronscripts/rosetta-pofile-stats-daily.py may fix some of these instances, but according to bug 781274, it may not be running to completion any longer.

also if this will be the default now (that untranslated count will only update every few hours) then launchpad will be defacto dead!

nobody will translate anymore, if people dont know if the numbers are wrong.

in my opinion the "untranslated" count column is the single most important thing in translations.
without it updating almost real time, this means all hope is lost.

why did you guys break it in the first place?

for small project leave it as it was!!
without this, launchpad is dead and people will look for alternatives

This is very misleading for project managers, because they believe that their projects are not being translated. And it's very annoying for contributors, who may believe that their translations are not being saved.
