Display 2 Powerpoints Simultaneously?

Asked by Eric Bauer

Hello,

So I have been working to fix my Powerpoint problem that everyone seems to deal with. I was attempting to display one PPT file in a timeline and I got it to work by following the these posts:

https://answers.launchpad.net/xibo/+question/127788

Then I dropped a second timeline in that would display another PPT file simultaneously with the first one. The second PPT file is now popping up the Open/Save/Cancel dialog box while the original PPT in the original timeline continues to work fine.

Anyone know what would cause that?

Eric

Problem Update:

I removed the second timeline and added this second PowerPoint to the first timeline so that the two PPT files are no longer playing simultaneously any longer, but rather back-to-back now. However, this problem of the second PPT file throwing up the Open/Save/Cancel dialog box remains. But only for the second PPT, the first one is running fine.

Could the files have different extensions? Eg ppt vs pptx vs pps etc?

They did have different file extensions. The .pptx file was working correctly, but .ppt did not. In the meantime, I have taken your advice and converted all of these Powerpoints to .wmv files. Although this does get me around the powerpoint issue completely, it has created a new problem that I am going to start a new thread on.

Can you help with this problem?
