merging apt-get with apt-build

Asked by Jonathan Aquilina

i would like some feed back on merging apt-build with apt-get so that we would have something along the lines of emerge that is in gentoo. is this something that would be a good idea or not? if so i will begin testing and working on merging the two together.

please, dont re-invent the wheell. there's
./configure
make
checkinstall

or

sudo apt-get build-dep and sudo apt-get source and sudo apt-get check and Debian Helpers Package

if you want to compile, NOT good idea.

reason i was thinking of merging the 2 is to have something like gentoos
emerge to where it automatically does all the customization packaging
compiling and installation from one command.
