Ubunto one: Cannot update or open update manage/software center

When I try to open the software center it says it has closed unexpectidley. When I try to open the update manager this always comes on to screen then closes: An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package information.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:

'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/ca.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_main_i18n_Translation-en, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.'

. Help! I can't do ANY updates what so ever :/

sudo apt-get install synaptic-package manager

then in synaptic fix broken,reload,upgrade and apply

also try sudo apt-get install -f
