Problem With Firefox

I tried reporting a bug, but that process failed on my Ubuntu 10.04 system. So, I am trying to report the bug via the ask a question process.

When I visited a wordpress blog, a note indicated my browser was old and I should upgrade Firefox. I did, and it's been a disaster ever since.

Firefox hangs; the Ubuntu additions won't install; and address completion is broken. I would like to reinstall the prior version or fix what I have.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I apologize for reporting a bug this way. Literally, ubuntu-bug crashed in a Python module. Asking a question and converting to a bug is the only way I could submit a bug. If anyone has guidelines on either going back to Firefox 4 or fixing this, I would appreciate it.

Strangely, I admit. I didn't install it in a uniform way. I unpacked the kit, and could not find an install, and wound up moving the binary and then trying to re-install everything from synaptic. Should I try to re-install everything from Synaptic?

Should give firefox 5. I'm not sure of it's release or stability as I do ot use Firefox at all. Maybe it's beta and not to be used by regular users. You should make sure it is stable.

It's ubufox that's also not installing.

Should do it. You should also inform the PPA maintainer that there is an issue with the files. I suggest you paste the text you pasted before to highlight the issue.
