I am having an error occur when i try to install packages

Can you please post basic information? Like what you are trying to do when this happens and what version of Ubuntu you are running.

Nathan was trying to load up a program and I am using ubuntu 11.10

what command are you issuing to get the output you posted?
What is the output of:

Right now I got my whole boot system messed up and can not get to the
ubuntu I have on Hard Drive, just waiting for a live DVD to come in the
mail. And some books just for Ubuntu.
