Bug Description

Under Linux, with Wacom Tablet under XInput, I have Stylus0 and Eraser0 as devices, together with Pad0, and in addition "Wacom Graphire4 6x8".

Input Devices dialog shows
Stylus0 as Disabled, Eraser as Screen, Core Pointer as Screen, Wacom Graphire4 6x8 as Disabled.

To get pressure sensibility, I need Stylus0 to be Screen, not Disabled.

Setting Stylus0 to Screen does not get saved in preferences (Eraser0 does), so I have to set it every time I want pressure sensitivity.

Apart from that, when stylus0 is in Screen Mode (after manually setting it to), double-click on a path does not create a node in between, it seems double-clicks are not recognized in this mode. If it is a gtk or inkscape issue I don't know.

Platform is OpenSuse 11.2, inkscape is today's bzr checkout (0.48+devel r9723).

GTK+ is 2.18.3

The problem persists since 0.47 (?), at least since the Xinput devices dialog has changed. Previously it was (I think) a GTK-provided one (basically the same as the GIMP currently shows), now it is a inkscape-own dialog, which doesn't, as I reported earlier, all settings.

The attached image confronts both dialogs. Before the inkscape dialog change, the old XInput dialog looked just like the gimp one

possibly the same issue as reported earlier in bug #559140 “On canvas node adding doesnt work anymore” (<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/559140>).

2) Setting Stylus0 to Screen does not get saved in preferences

The dialog was replaced in Inkscape 0.48 (<http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.48#Extended_input_device_configuration>).

See also <http://codewideopen.blogspot.com/2008/03/tablet-test-area.html> about the new dialog.
