Is markdown syntax for editing planned for Zim?

Zim is already my favorite personal wiki. Is markdown syntax for editing planned for Zim? This would make it the best of the best markdown editors and personal wikis. Would make byword, vodoopad, etc. a run for their money.

Thanks for a wonderful tool. How is this plan about markdown going in 2022?

Is there any possibility to import markdown files, at least?
