How to remove lists?

If I create a list (bullet, numbered, or check) I can switch the lines between the different kinds of lists but cannot remove the bullets/numbers/check and go back to non-list paragraphs. have to delete manually each bullet. I would expect a bullet list to be removed when I select and click bullet list again, or if I do clear formatting.

If you select a bullet list and press "*" it will remove the bullets, so
believe this works.
