How to update python27.dll?

Asked by Chris Johansen

On Win7, Secunia nags me to update "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zim Desktop Wiki\python27.dll". I have the latest, updated Python 3.3.3 (i64) and Python 2.7.6 (i64) installed. Copying C:\Windows\System32\python27.dll (latest) to replace "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zim Desktop Wiki\python27.dll" does not work--Zim never starts.

How do I update python27.dll?

Where can I get python27.dll (v.2.7.6, x86)?

This dll is build when the application is compiled and the .exe is compiled
to this specific version. I'm not at all sure you can just replace it like
that.

If the compiled version doesn't work for you I would suggest running from
source code instead.

See the "install" instructions on the website.

Jaap
