Zim

Page is still there, but its content lost.

Asked by Matthias Ackermann

The content of one of my pages is gone. The page is still there and correctly named. But instead of the text which I wrote, I've got this:

[Notebook]
name=Wiki
version=0.4
endofline=unix
profile=None
home=Internet
icon=None
document_root=None
shared=False
disable_trash=False
interwiki=

I don't know what to do.

Looks like that *somehow* the notebook config that should be in
"notebook.zim" ended up in this page file. Can't really help to
determine how that happened. What were you doing before this happened
?

To recover the page, the only hope is that you have the version
control plugin. In that case you can easily roll back to the previous
saved version using the "File -> Versions" dialog.

Otherwise it depends on whatever backup you have in place.

Hope this helps,

Jaap

Version Control plugin: I cannot roll back, altough the is activated. But I always back my wiki by via shell scripts by basically just copying the whole directory.

What I have done before: Sadly, I cannot determine the exact point in time. However, I can narrow it down to:
 - Create new pages.
 - Rename pages.
 - Link pages to other pages via Zim syntax.
 - Link pages to files via absolute paths.
 - Insert images.
I do not file around within the directory of the wiki. No direct manipulation of the wiki.

Is this sufficient?

Afraid without exact steps I won't be able to debug the issue. Will
keep an eye on the bug tracker whether this issue pops up more often.
