Zim

notes sort order

Asked by ngsupb

Hi,

I am trying to swtich to Zim from Tomboy. Everything looks perfect except of one thing I am missing: in tomboy the notes were sorted by date. The latest are on top. Unfortunately Zim sorts notes by alphabetic. Is there a way to change the sort order by date?

Thank you.

Not yet, but there is an open feature request for this.

Hi Jaap,

Sorting by Date is a very essential and indispensable feature. It's probably the only thing that's still keeping me away from Zim. Kindly try to get this feature asap. Anyway, where is the feature request for this, as you mentioned above? I couldn't find it anywhere.

Further, if required I'd be willing to offer some help, for example building a plugin for this. Only problem is, I don't have much experience. Please reply soon as I'm really thrilled to make Zim my mainstream notebook.

I was thinking about the request in bug #278417, but I see now that order by date is not mentioned there explicitly. I think it was mentioned in the mail discussion as alternative to manual ordering.

What may interest you is this request: bug #733778. That one actually already has a proof-of-concept plugin that gives the modification date per page in a list.

Regards,

Jaap
