Anyone interested in electric current transfer in granular materials?

Asked by behzad

Hi folks,

I'd like to know if anyone is interested to have a collaboration with me to develop a model for simulating electric current transfer in granular media?

The idea is to use the matrix of the contacts which includes the position and orientation and radius of all contacts to develop the network of resistance. Then, by solving this network, we can obtain the electric resistance of the bed of particles.

If you're interested in this work, or you have an idea, please let me know.

Cheers,
Behzad

Very interesting. Since it will result in a linear system to solve I suggest to use some of the libraries we are already using (openblas, suitesparse, eigen3). They are excellent and it will minimize compilation/maintainance issues.

Also if you decide to use any kind of graphs, boost has
BGL (boost graph library), which can be also used with
Yade.

Best regards

Anton
