Coupling Yade with FEM code

Asked by Henry

Hi All,
In Ref[1], Authors said that Yade can couple with OOFEM and someother FEM code. Also, I also find modules about the interface between Yad and OOFEM.
Is there anyone who use this founction? or is there some examples about this function?
    Thanks a lot!

Henry

Hello Henry,

From my point of view, some information in the article you mentioned are
not implemented at all in Yade. The FEM part is one example.

In general, you can combine Yade with any other program written in Python /
with Python interface. OOFEM is such a program for FEM analysis. I did some
coupling of Oofem and Yade, because I work with both of them. So far there
are no public examples, in a few days time I would like to place some
examples on wiki.

What would you like to achieve with such combination?

cheers
Jan
