vtkrecorder compress [experimental]

hi,
in [1] I read about a nice parameter of the vtkrecorder called 'compress'
According to documentation this feature is experimental.
Has anybody used this feature already or does anyone know what exactly is experimental?

Hi,

it should, actually, work [1], [2], [3] ...
Let us know, if it doesn't. Otherwise, you can remove an "experimental"
mark.
