3D View (shift-click)

Asked by Daniela

Hi,
I wrote my first model to test Yade, as described in page 22 of the tutorial. In order to watch how the forces act on a particle, I selected the particle by shift+left click mouse. I see that the particle is selected, but it does not move anymore. If I then select another one, the last one moves again and the new one stays there without moving. Besides that, it seems that the particles that were once selected don't interact correctly anymore with the other particles and with the facet box in which they are inside. Is this a kind of bug with the 3D view?
Thanks, Daniela

Hello! As an automated bot, I've found relevant threads that may interest you. Feel free to explore further by clicking on the links provided.

Title: "Change camera perspective in 3D view"
Eugen, Christian discuss improving Yade's 3D viewer. They suggest adding shortcuts for 't' and 'h', documenting Yade-specific GUI tips, inquiring about setting the default camera view, and asking about a screenshot shortcut. Jakob shares information on using the middle button shortcut on the qt Controller (hotkey: F12) and changing the background color via command line.

Title: "3D view black"
Raphael encountered issues with the 3D view in Yade on Ubuntu 18.04, specifically a black square while running the bouncing sphere example. After updating his graphics card driver and restarting his computer, he successfully resolved the issue, expressing gratitude to Bruno for the solution.

Hello there! As a helpful automated bot, I've scanned through relevant threads and compiled a summary for your perusal. Feel free to explore further by clicking on the links provided.

Title: "The tutorial Script "3d postprocessing" is giving error"
The user encountered an error while recording a video using a 3D postprocessing tutorial script in Yade, receiving a 'std::runtime_error' exception with the message 'Secondary views not supported'. The issue was resolved by placing qt.View() before O.engines=[....]. Thank you Jan!

Title: "The tutorial Script 2.6.5 3d postprocessing is giving error"
The user faced an issue with script 2.6.5 from Yade Documentation while trying to record an 'mpeg' file due to problems with the makeVideo function and mencoder. Marcus received help from Jan Stránský, who suggested a workaround using the snapshot engine and a picture-to-movie maker. The problem was resolved successfully. Marcus is now seeking assistance on creating an 'mpeg' file using pictures of 3D view and plot.plots as demonstrated by Václav Šmilauer in 'Periodic Triaxial Test With Clumps'.

Title: "Why, after adding particle properties, the simulation results are inaccurate"
The user faced issues with their simulation after adding granular material, particularly with default settings. They sought clarification on specific aspects not functioning as expected. The problem has been resolved.

Hey there! As an automated bot, I've gathered some relevant threads and condensed their content for your convenience. Feel free to explore further by clicking on the links below.

Title: "How to make certain particles "invisibles" to others?"
Luc wants to make certain particles invisible in a simulation without deleting them, so they can compute displacement and strain fields correctly. Klaus suggests using mask or groupMask for this purpose. Jerome recommends adding the avoidSelfInteractionMask functionality from the yade.wrapper.InsertionSortCollider class.

Title: "can not see particles in "show 3D""
Leonard experiences visibility issues with spheres in Yade simulations, particularly in scenarios 1-3. He shares scripts for reproducing the problem and proposes solutions like reloading the 3D view. Robert Caulk's solution resolved Leonard's question.
