Client Options?

Asked by Shawn

Hello,

My name is Shawn. I am trying to see if xibo is a plausible signage system for us to switch to. I have client side installed and server side fully configured. The display I am trying to use is what I am having difficulties with. I cant seem to find the client options to even register the display. I made a sample layout on my server side xibo server manager but i want it to display on my display.

Any help is much appreciated
Thanks
Shawn

Hi Shawn

On the client, open the Xibo client options. Fill in the server url and key. Click save. Go to the register tab and click Register.

Assuming the display registers correctly, you then need to go in to the server display management, edit the display and then save it to license it.

You can then schedule items on the new display.

Start -> programs -> Xibo Player -> options.

The installer makes a program group and in it should be two shortcuts, one to launch the player and one to open the options.

This is related I guess. I am having difficulties with the URI. I have xampp running on my pc here, and then a pc hooked up to a samsung tv which has the client. I tried plugging in the ip of my server machine but it has no luck when sending the request to register the display.. any thoughts??

Thanks
Shawn

What address do you put in to get to the installer?

http://ip.address/xibo ?

In which case the URI you want is http://ip.address/xibo

Watch because the default is https:// not http://

No Shawn there isn't!

You must know what address you went to in the web browser to install the software?

If you're following the guide in the wiki then the address I gave in the last email should work. If you've installed it elsewhere then I've no way of knowing.

Sorry

Alex
