Switching between 12 and 24 hour format on [Clock]

Asked by BoAdams

I'm using the "Available Substitution" in the text field to insert the time ([Clock]). However, the time is always showing in 24-hour format. Is there a way to switch to 12-hour format?

Sorry, not at the moment. There will be when we add a proper clock module in 1.7.0

Thanks Dan. I discovered the clock logic in the file
modules\preview\HtmlTemplateForGetResource.html, and I modified it myself.
I have also created a few new substitutions that fit our needs here. Once
again, Open Source tools reveal their power!

Thanks for your response. I look forward to 1.7. If you need a beta
tester, please let me know. We use Xibo for our displays here at the
library, and it works well.

That's great - glad you managed to find that! 1.7 will allow you to create your own module out of those sort of changes so they wont get overwritten on upgrade (which is pretty handy). The clock module also supports subs in a template (similar to tickers) - so the format is within the [], e.g. [HH:mm]

Anyway, pleased you have it working for now.

We are trying to increase some confidence in Xibo, so if you like and have a logo we could show that would be grand :-) (http://xibo.org.uk/2014/08/26/xibo-trusted-by-who/)

Dan-
I¹ve attached the logo. Be sure to include the full logo (and not just the
Emory part). We are one of several professional libraries at Emory (and
the only one to use Xibo so far as I know).

Unfortunately Launchpad doesn't support attachments! Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Can you email it to <email address hidden>?

I'll be sure to include it all.

Thanks!
