No session error when editing region

I've recently upgraded 1.4.2 to 1.6.1 on a Windows XP machine running WAMP. Now, whenever I try to perform any edits using the pull-down menu for regions (both new layouts and pre-existing layouts), I see an error in the logs.

The error is "No session returned"

As well as this being shown as an error - which I now know should not be an error, I am not able to perform any operation from the aforementioned pulld down menu.

So, I try to perform any edit on a region, I see the progress animation for a brief period of time and then nothing happens.

Sorry for the rubbish initial question, I was in a rush when writing it.

Hi Matt,

There isn't anything else in your log that would indicate an error. I wonder if this might be an issue with a JavaScript cache? Have you cleared your cache?
