Only one feed come in RSS ticker

Asked by Sauvageot

Hi Again Alex,

I'am testing the client under windows.
I'am very impressed, with this forum i resolved almost
all of the things.
Just one issue with RSS ticker, the RSS file with all the feeds is
well on the windows client in the xibo library folder, with all the feeds, but only the first feed appears
and scroll on my screen. Is it a normal way of runnig ?

Regards
Marc

It's normally that the feed contains HTML formatting that we can't strip out - usually DIVs are the culprit.

http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/front_page/rss.xml

That feed should work fine.

If you set the feed you have to scroll up instead of left or make the region it's in alot larger I think you'll see the other items scrolling across below the one you can see. If you have access to modify the feed then you ideally want a feed with no formatting in it.

If you don't, then you'll either need to switch to a different feed or attempt to clean it with something like Yahoo pipes.

Hummm.. just one thing,
i tried with this URL :

http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/front_page/rss.xml

with left scrolling and a big region, everything appears like this : [title] - [description]
                                                                                                     [title]- [description]
                                                                                                     [title] - [description]
                                                                                                     [title] - [description]

How can i make it appears like this : [title] - [description ] - [title] - [description ] - [title] - [description ] - [title] - [description]

I'am searching since 4 hours, but no way....
I look at what yahoo pipes is , but it didn't understood all the things.
Regards.

both linux and windows client.
It works now, i just deleted the region with the RSS, and made a new one.
I should have made too much try with this region, when i checked the xml file in the windows client
 there whas a <p> </p> and i think those
made my probleme.
I hope this will help other people.

Thanks Alex, great Job.
