layout don't fill the screen

Asked by ckre

hello

The PC where xibo client runs has a standard screen and a full HD LCD TV.
Xibo runs on the LCD.
My problem is when I use only a background color, the entire screen is colored.
When I put an image (1920 * 1080) in the background, it is centered but not filled the entire screen.
about the layout, they have the same size as the background image (so they don't filled the screen) but in addition they are not aligned with the background image and are aligned to the left.

could you tell me what setting changing or where i made a mistake.

Thanks

Then the layout will fit.

If it doesn't then either windows is driving the screen at 1080 but that's not the screens native resolution or the screen isn't running at 1080 at all.

Check the manual for the screen and see what the panels native resolution is.

Please can you create a layout with your image as the background and a
bright contrasting color background on it then take a screenshot and email
that along with the original background image to <email address hidden>

I downloaded the user guide for that TV from the Samsung website and it says on page 22 (English manual) that the optimal resolution for the TV is 1360x768 @ 60Hz.

The nearest 16:9 aspect ratio to that is 1366x768 so if you're sending a layout that's supposed to be 16:9 to a screen that isn't that shape then there will be a black band somewhere to accommodate that.

What you can do is enter a custom resolution in the management menu for 1360x768. Then setup your PC to drive the screen at that resolution and then the background will fit the screen properly.

Replied to the OP offline.

1. OP is trying to drive two screens. Xibo doesn't support that. Consequently the output is being sized for the smaller of the two displays and so the image on the second display is too small.

2. OP isn't driving the larger screen at the correct resolution and consequently even when the primary monitor is disabled there will still be a margin.

Problem solved by :

- using the TV as primary monitor
or
- use a dedicated PC connected to the TV
