Getting regions/layouts to loop constantly

Asked by barberj66

I have just started to play with Xibo and it looks really good. one of the things that I want it to be able to do is constantly loop the content. Some times we only have for example 5 jpgs playing on our current system and it keeps playing them over and over again.

Would this be possible with Xibo and if so could I have some iinstructions on how to do this. We want to be able to constantly loop the media in the regions.
thanks

You'd create a layout with one region in it. To that region you'd add your
five images with whatever duration is appropriate in seconds for each.

You then schedule that layout for the hour, day, week or whatever period
is appropriate.

Xibo will do this by default.

If you have more than one layout scheduled Xibo will show the content of
layout 1's regions until the longest media duration is reached and then it
will move onto Layout 2.

If you only have 1 layout showing Xibo will reach the end and then show the
same layout from the start (creating a loop).

thanks for that guys its workig fine now, brilliant software by the way I'm very impressed. I was being a bit impatient one of my regions was still displaying media and the other had stopped. I understand how it works now.
Many thanks!

Is it possible to loop all the layouts in one campagne?

So for example you have 3 layouts: layout1, layouts2, layout3 and I want to see the following:

layout1
layout2
layout3
layout1
layout2
layout3
layout1
layout2
layout3
etc.

Howto to do this?
I read something on another page that you must schedule the campagne and the layouts but it isn't working. It "stops" after the layout3. And layout3 becomes only in a loop.

You just schedule the campaign from say 8am to 10pm and nothing else. No
repeat or anything like that is needed

Strange, itsn't working. I only see layout 1 and that one is repeating. I use Version 1.6.0-rc1 does this matter?

The only reason I can think that would happen is if layout 2 and 3 are
invalid, or if you have some other schedule in there (perhaps with priority
ticked) overriding things.

To be clear, you need to ensure:

1. Remove all schedules for your client and ensure Interleave Default is
turned off on the display record in the CMS
2. The time and date are correct on your CMS and on your client
3. You can schedule layout 1, layout 2 and layout 3 individually, and they
then run as expected on their own.
4. Add layout 1, 2 and 3 to a campaign
5. Schedule the campaign from now until some time in the future (ie a
couple of hours). Do not use any repeat type.

It will then show as you want.

Thx, i will check this.

On the display record in the cms you can define a standard layout. I can't leave it blank. Could that be the problem?

It must not be blank. It should be whatever layout you want shown when
nothing else is scheduled or when there is an error. Make sure it's not
layout 1, 2 or 3.

What you need to check is that interleave default is disabled in the
Display record

It works. I also deleted the default layout sheet and replaced by a new one.

thx for your help.

The problem was a ticker that plays endlessly (999999 seconds)
