wubi exe doesn't open correctly

Asked by macy fuqua

I have windows 7 installed on a mac pro by way of bootcamp.
I want to install ubuntu using wubi.
When I download and click run, the following happens:
A window pops up with the following:
pyrun.exe-No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into Drive \Device\Harddisk4\DR4
                             Cancel Try Again Continue
I have to click cancel about 15 or so times until the installer appears.
This doesn't seem normal so I deleted wubi.
Need some information please on what is causing this.
Thanks
macyf

Unplug all peripheral devices you don't need e.g. external drives, flash cards, iphones, MMC etc. Then retry. You can also click Continue (but you have to click it a lot - it's not infinite although it appears that way). So better just to remove the offending device.

Warning: for Wubi installs you must not update packages grub-pc and grub-common. When Update Manager pops up, look in the list and uncheck these (under the "Recommended" list).

Thank you bcbc
The only device attached is a usb modem, which I use for faxing purposes only.
Could this be it?
Does the printer cause this? I do have a printer attached.
Thanks again.

I can't say for sure. If you don't need them I'd just remove both.
