firefox times out accessing uploaded files

Download and openig files worked OK last night,but during upload firefox
almost freezes.
After upload completes speed returns to normal.

I sent an email saying it worked (opening files and downloads) I added a comment about uploads almost freezing my browser until uploads are finished.
