read only in External USB drive

External Western Digital Media Center USB drive recognized. Some files and folders come up as read only. Why? How do I change this?

1. I am attempting to plan .wma music files in palyer .
2. Music file loads appears to play but no sound.
3. File is in read only folder.

Is your usb drive mounted as read only? Please paste the output of `cat /etc/fstab`.
If not, try going `chmod 755 /path/to/file.wma`.

If you can't get a .wma file to play, you probably don't have the codes installed. The following should help:
