khelpcenter

Asked by Stan Moore

Where do I find and how do I install "khelpcenter"? When I check help on many programs it says "khelpcenter is not installed".

Hi,

To install khelpcenter, go to Applications - Accessories - Terminal and type in the following command:

"sudo apt-get install khelpcenter"

When prompted, enter your password and press Return.

Good luck!

I did as instructed. "Applications-Terminal". It opens as a blank window. I tried to paste " sudo apt-get install khelpcenter", "enter", but nothing happens.
I opened "Applications - System Tools - Konsole" and pasted in the sudo command. I supplied my password when requested and got the following command:" dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem." I did as directed and got "requested operation requires superuser privilege"
I tried my name and password - nothing happened.
Can you offer additional help?
I'm new at this.
Thanks

Hi,

to run commands with superuser privileges, prefix them with "sudo" (short for "superuser do"), like this:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

good luck!

Finally got khelpcenter installed. I had to delete 2d poker, because it had
a data base problem that, for some reason , was stopping the installation.
I got it working.
Thanks very much for you help and patience.

Thanks. Problem solved. I had to remove 2d poker because it was causing a data base problem. Then everything went as instructed.
