MeMenu not visible

Asked by Robertgl

I've installed Empathy and set up Gwibber, though going mad trying to find out how to view through the MeMenu. I may be missing something obvious in 10.4 as not that experienced a user.

If your using Ubuntu 10.04 Empathy and Gwibber should be already installed. The me menu is the menu which appears by clicking on your user name (by default at the top right of the screen). If you have accidently removed this panel you can get it back by Right mouse clicking on the top panel and 'Add to panel' the 'Indicator Applet Session' applet.

The me menu can be used to change your status when empathy is running and to update your social networking sites status/messages by entering your update in the text entry box in that menu. (Provided gwibber is setup)

If this doesn't sound like what you have installed could you please confirm that you are running Ubuntu 10.04 and not Kubuntu or an older version of ubuntu.

In case you don't have those apps install you need these packages:
indicator-messages
indicator-me

All about indicators.
