Can sims run on ubuntu

Ubuntu is very annoying and i really hope it can do this one thing, run The Sims, i don't want to try and take any chances, please help me out. if it can run the Sims please let me know. (It is not sims2)

in general linux and ubuntu cannot run .exe files.
the sims installer is an exe file so you cannot run it natively.
the only way that you can run some windows applications is wine which is an emulator.

you can install it by typing

apt-get install wine

this is the ratings about sims 1 and it doesn't look good. good luck

Yes it can, all you need to do is to install PlanOnLinux, this software enables you to install windows games including the sims. See this software review at: http://allforlinux.blogspot.com/2008/08/playonlinux.html
