now I can't get virtual box to work
Why Virtual Box is the latest version I downloaded it and installed it and it installed the extention pak
Then when I went to start bleeping windows it spit out this
Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)
The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the kernel module by executing
'/etc/init.
as root. If it is available in your distribution, you should install the DKMS package first. This package keeps track of Linux kernel changes and recompiles the vboxdrv kernel module if necessary.
I did the /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup in root and stll will not work

The formatting in the output above is bad and hard to decrypt.
But I think that the following Terminal output shows the issue:
Please install the linux-headers-
or use the --kernelsourcedir option to tell DKMS where it's located
i A linux-headers-
3.0.0 on
p linux-headers-
3.0.0 on
The i at the front means "installed package"
The p at the front means "not installed yet"
So you still need to install the linux-headers-
Copy-paste the following commands into the Terminal (press <ENTER> after each line):
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-
Then rerun the following command and send us the Terminal output from running this command:
sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup

*It finally finished NOW lets see if it worked. . YEAH ! it back to
running again
Thanks . . Sure took its time installing the linux header . . Didn't the
up grade to 11.10 do that I seen it remove 2.8. xxx when I went from
10.10 to 11.04 and loaded 3.0. xxx something !

You're welcome.
Please set the thread status to 'solved', if the issue is now solved.

*Well no sooner got it running than they added a NEWER KERNEL from
3.0.0.18 to 3.0.0.19 and I had to REDO the entire set of SUDO commands
to get back up and running again ! . . Glad I had a Sent folder in my
E-mail . . I will make a file in ABI with all the commands for future
use and save to the back up drive
Do I have to do this EVERY TIME they re-do the kernel ? Also had to
re-install the rest of the stuff like the guest installations and
extentions file . .
