removable drives not automounted

Asked by zeimusu

My removeble usb drives are not being detected but not automounted: No icon on desktop, nautilus doesn't open and there is no directory in /media. The drive is listed in fdisk -l :

Disk /dev/sdd: 1967 MB, 1967128576 bytes
57 heads, 56 sectors/track, 1203 cylinders, total 3842048 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdd1 137 3842047 1920955+ 6 FAT16

 It can be mounted manually. But I would like it to be mounted automatically.

Below is the contents of /var/syslog

Is the partition healthy?
When you last unplugged the device did you safely remove it?

Thanks, a reboot seems to have fixed it.

Fwiw I tried with two drives, a usb stick and an sd drive, both were
healthy.

Be sure you safe remove drives, or they will give issues

Can you help with this problem?
