Sync samsung apollo android phone on 11.04

I love using Ubuntu but am a novice. I can't sync my android phone on 11.04. Do I need drivers or is it not possible?

On windows it mirrors the android screen on the phone and you can operate it
via computer. Is it possible with ubuntu. It recognises the phone but just
as a storage device.
