Esto normalmente significa que ya se está ejecutando otra aplicación de gestión de paquetes (como apt-get o aptitude). Por favor, cierre esa aplicación primero.

Ya verifiqué que no hay ninguna aplicación relacionada con el mensaje del error.
No puedo actualizar ni tempoco instalar ningún programa desde ADEPT MANAGER

Podrías enviar la imagen nuevamente, no aparece aquí. Luego de ello podríamos ver qué hacer.

Estas tratando de abrir multiples instaladores?

Tiene abierto el Update-manager o el synaptic al mismo tiempo que intenta
actualizar o instalar con el aptitude o el apt?

Gracias a todos por las respuestas y su interes en esta solución.

Reinstalé Kubuntu y ahora tengo Linux, y dos particiones más con Windowsa xp sp2 funcionando correctamente.
