The Update Manager does not work at all even after a fresh install --'E:Type '“deb' is not known on line 59 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list'

Was trying to access Synaptic manager wanted to remove anything related to
google got this now

Synaptic Package Manager and Ubuntu Software Center are not working either .
Synaptic gives the error >> E: Type '“deb' is not known on line 59 in source list /etc/apt/
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.

And Ubuntu Software Center is taking forever to show me any installation , while I have installed Ubuntu 11.04yesterday Could install a Jedit yesterday but that was the last thing .

ok can you see the line which looks a LOT different. If you run:
gksudo gedit /etc/apt/
find this line:
“deb http://
and change it to:
deb http://
Someone has added quotes which is why it doesn't work, save the new file, close gedit and run:
sudo apt-get update
