I WANT TO RESTORE TO OLD OPERATING SYSTEM

I UPGRADED MY UBUNTO OPERATING SYSTEM ITS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY MY SIDE MENUS DISAPPEARED I CANNOT OPEN ANY FILES AT ALL ALL I CAN DO IS LOOK UP HELP WHEN I PRESS THE ON/OFF BUTTON I WANNA KNOW IF I CAN RESTORE IT TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE THIS UPDATE

Please don't post in all caps. It's unnecessary, harder to read and looks like you are shouting, so DON'T.

The OS is also called Ubuntu (pronouned oo-boon-too), not Ubunto.

Which release do you currently have installed?

Ok I apologize for posting in all caps. It upgraded to I believe 11 I can't really tell because it has no menu buttons all it is a screen saver no options at all. In order to reach this option was to press the on/off button and press help then look for help online besides that I don't have a CD drive I tried to download a different version online but it says I have to burn to a CD/dvd first this is my problem maybe the newer version didn't comoletly finish download maybe that's y missing the menu options

No alt cnt does not do any thing at some time I get a screen that says dell login and password I don't know what those ate

ok after I restarted it acouple of times the terminal came out what can i do next

Ok it asked to auto remove then a whole bunch of y's came down the terminal should I wait

Ok system restarted but still no windows or menus is there another step

Ok thanks I've put gnome panel then it came out bit when I close the terminal the panels disappear also what can I do to keep them

in the startup manager you can add the command and it will run on login
