If the developers do not accept your proposal, then there is nothing what we can do.

Your proposal is trying to deal with symptoms, but not with the root cause (which is the inability to switch keyboard layout in that moment).

I agree that it does not remove the inability to switch keyboard layout, but it makes it possible to answer the question in English like apt-get allows, where I can conform an action by writing in Russian "д" (yes) or in English "y". I think that it a reasonable improvement.
