Issue with the Ubuntu 9.10 installation:Bugs

Asked by MBHAKM

Hello

I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 32-bit desktop edition in my Dell laptop 2510 as dual Installation Successful.
Installation completed , restarted the computer. The GRUB Loading menu comes with
Ubuntu Linux 2.6.31-14-generic. Then in the log on screen , I don't see any sound keyboard.
The previous version has sound while logging.

After logging, then connected with wireless network. Then after few minutes, I got software update manager
updates. Total updates is 166 i.e 117.3 MB download size. In that updates, I can see new Kernel updates i.e
Ubuntu Linux 2.6.31-16-generic on x86/x86_64 as new install . Should i need to install?

1. Also I face some of the issues when these new kernel in previous computer
- After Updates, when I restart the computer--> Select new GRUB Ubuntu Linux 2.6.31-16-generic, no keyboard / mouse work.

2. When I go to the Firefox or youtube for listenning to video, it says Adobe Flash needs to be installed. where can i install Adobe Flash for ubuntu 9.10?

3. How Empathy voice and video chart work with gtalk, this gets disconnected. sometimes connected other person cannot hear my voice. I can hear the voice.

4. Similarly, How skype voice and video chart works? Where can i get the exact installation setps to install?

Please advise....

I upgraded the package , it shows 2 kernel Headers in the GRUB boot menu.

1. When I select GRUB Ubuntu Linux 2.6.31-16-generic, no keyboard / mouse work. How to solve this so that above step 3 and 4 will solve?

2. Also When I go to the Firefox or youtube for listenning to video, it says Adobe Flash needs to be installed. where can i install Adobe Flash for ubuntu 9.10?

Please advise??

Alright that's a kernel bug, don't worry it will be fixed really soon

You can install flash from adobe.com just download the .deb and then
click-and-install

The dis connectivity could be based on the fact that gtalk doesn't
officially support video chatting (yet) or your internet connection
