Are you still experiencing this problem?

If so, please provide the information that actionparsnip requested. Running that command may also fix, or at least help, with the problems you are experiencing. To run it, open a Terminal window (Ctrl+Alt+T), come to

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+question/164974

if you are currently viewing this in your email (as the command won't copy right from your email), copy

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y upgrade; sudo apt-get clean; lsb_release -a; df -h

to the clipboard, then paste it into the Terminal (Edit > Paste in the Terminal is one way), then press enter to run it. When you run that command you may be prompted for your password. As you enter it, you won't see any placeholder characters (like *) but that's OK--just type it in and press enter.

Then to give us the information about what happened when you ran it (which may be useful even if the command itself didn't manage to do any good), please select all the text in the Terminal (Edit > Select All), copy it to the clipboard (Edit > Copy), and paste it here (into your reply in this question thread).

No, problem superseded. Attempting to get on-board anew. Having ADD
in combo with past mess-ups has at least provided some experience. I
shall soldure on...

If you no longer want help with this problem, please mark this question it as Solved (you can do that at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+question/164974).

If it recurs, you can always reopen it. (If you have other problems you want help with, you can open new questions for them.)

Can you help with this problem?
