"media player" playing videos in wrong colours

Asked by Sipho Mkhwanazi

First of all l am new to Linux and l am evaluating it, I've been using windows all my life.

After installing ubuntu l couldn't play videos or music so l updated plug-ins and whole other stuff, l have an INvdia G-force 9500GT video card. After the updates were complete l found that colours on my videos were all wrong, places that should be rad appear blue or green etc.

Please l need help in sorting out this colour problem, thank you. Besides this l am very happy with Linux, its easily the best OS l ever used.

Possible that you are hitting this? I'm guessing, but it might be worth checking your colour balance..

Based upon the comments, you might like to try:
Edit->Preferences->Display->Reset To Defaults.
