KDE unable to start after CPU upgrade

Asked by Spyros Georgopoulos

Hi to all,

I would apreciate if someone could help me...
I'm using Kubuntu 10.04 LTS and I have recently upgraded my CPU from AMD Athlon 3800 to AMD Phenom II 925.After that, and despite the fact that the system recognizes the CPU, system hangs at splash screen. If I click, I get the message:

"The following installation problem was detected while trying to start KDE.No write access to '/home/thiseas/.ICE Authority.KDE unable to start"

And if I click OK I get another message:

"Could not start KSM server. check your installation"

I have already tried to solve the problem according to 82771 and I get the output:

"-rw------- 1 root root 0 2011-12-26 15:42 /home/thiseas/.ICEauthority"

Could someone help me please?
