terminal will not accept any password, any key or charter

i was instructed to cut and past o command from the terminal to this link. how? futhermore the terminal will not accept any password or charter

You don't get feedback in the terminal when you use sudo, this is to protect password length. Just keep typing and hit ENTER and it will work.

press CTL+ALT+T to get into the terminal window.

your password will not be displayed on the screen when you type it.
