I do not have internet conn for laptop with ubuntu 10.10. on start-up i get TPM problem press F! OR f2.Thus with F1 i directly go to UBUNTU. How can I get login screen?

I have a dell 610 laptop. I had older version of ubuntu . I downloaded ubunyu 10.10 from my pc on cd and loaded it on lpt.I do not have internet conn for lpt.I mostly work with extl HDD. As I start lpt I get the sceen message re TPM. Pressing F1 it goes to UBUNTU.and starts . If left not woking for 15 minutes it saks for password. AND here i have forgotten the password. NOW how do I seste the PASSWORD?

boot the live cd, chroot yourself in and run password and username
