login issue after install

After install ubuntu in my comapq presario v3720au pc i tried to login but i failed becoz i set the password and user name but after complete installation of os when it restart it does not take my user name and password. how can i fixed this prob. please help me. it happens every time when i install ubuntu in my laptop . i cheaked all issue before giving passwod but it happend every times

Boot to root recovery mode and set the password with:

passwd foo

change foo to your username. You can verify your username by running:

cd /home; ls
