I bought 9.04 off ebay the disc is scratch,can,t get psswd to update,tried to order 10. said i did allready,i didnt help

forgot my password 9.04 would like to update, would like a disc to replace 9.04 figure, the best way to go

Jaunty is no longer supported but if you boot to recovery root console you can reset your password there.

Also, ubuntu is free - you can just download an ISO and put it on a USB key or on a CD.
