disabling the authenticator in ubuntu 10.04

Asked by Josh Meyers

New to Ubuntu (10.04), and I would like to turn off the authenticator just enough so I can install games / apps / or downloaded material and not have to put in my password every time.

New to Ubuntu: read the Ubuntu Manual, it's very informative: http://ubuntu-manual.org/

Password is an important protection to prevent other malicious software to install spyware or viruses without asking nothing to you so please be sure your Ubuntu ask it when you are installing software... (the password is cached for some amount of time so you don't never type it in an install session)

Can you help with this problem?
