Deremember remembered root-pw?

Asked by Johan Kröckel

I have an activated root account. So sometimes I need to enter the root password in gnome with the option to remeber password for the session. The problem is, as I only suspend my laptop at night, a session and the remembered root password can last quite long.
Is it possible to make gnome forget the password?

You shouldn't be using the root password, there is absolutely no reason to use it if you are a member of the admin group which your first user will be a member of.

This will help:

I also suggest STRONGLY that you run this command to redisable the root account:
sudo usermod -p '!' root

Ubuntu does NOT support people using root for anything and we advise using sudo and gksudo (or kdesu for KDE).

First: I want to use the root account and I don't want to discuss rationale. But it's possible to install Ubuntu with an activated root account.
Second: I don't want to delete the whole Gnome Keyring. I'm just trying to delete one key from the session keyring and the session keyring is, according to the Gnome documentation [1], never stored to the harddisk. I think some versions ago, one could view/edit the session keyring in seahorse.
