Ubuntu Software Centre will not load in Ubuntu 11.04

I installed Ubuntu 11.04 a few days ago. Ubuntu Software Centre worked fine until now - I get a blank grey screen and eventually the error message SOFTWARE CENTRE IS NOT RESPONDING. So I have to force QUIT. Is there a fix for this????

Can you give the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a

Then run:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y upgrade

and give that output too

Have done as requested, but Software Centre still refuses to load. What

ok, try:

sudo apt-get -y --reinstall install software-center; sudo apt-get clean
