I cant download Skype under my ubuntu version,how can i do that

I installed ubuntu under windows. under windows i used skype.in ubuntu how can i open that skype installation?

ok, that works. yet now my microphone is not working. the sound test is
negative. what can i do?

Firstly, confirm that your microphone works in general by installing the "audacity" program, and attempting to record yourself.

Then have a look at this:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SkypeTroubleshooting

Particularly the section entitled
"Selecting Microphone (input device)"

Skype doesn't always pick the mic correctly, and occasionally needs a bit of hand holding.

As mycae says, if the mic doesn't work in any app, it won't work in skype....
