no, the drivers are for windows, not Linux. Ubuntu is not Windows so the drivers will not work.

What model is the Lexmark, maybe there are drivers.

Thanks for you answer. The printer is a Lexmark x2600. I believe I found
drivers for it but I am not allowed to finish installing them because I am
asked for the "Root administrator password" which no on here in this office
seems to know anything about. I installed the Ubuntu for it's
word-processing since Microsoft shut off out office 2007. Now we have
word-processing but no printer. Nice, huh?

You need this:
http://www.downloaddelivery.com/downloads/cpd/lexmark-inkjet-08-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh.zip

You will need sudo to install it.

Download the file to the desktop and extract the file then run:

gksudo lexmark-inkjet-08-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh

Should be fine, you will need to provide your logon password. I assume you are able to use sudo/gksudo

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask mike m for more information if necessary.
