Share the mount point using samba. You can easily install samba with:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y install samba

I have windows installed on all of my computers except for the one I use with ubuntu  ll.04 installed. On this machine I have a usb flash drive and a internal storage hard drive installed.  I went through the procedure for sharing the drives and the files and folders.  On my other computers I can see the drives but I can't open them. I get the message you don't permision to open this folder. See your network administrator to obtain permission.
I have used the console to share the folders, and also tried to share them using the properties tab. I hope this explains my situation.
Thanks JW

Then run:

sudo smbpasswd -a $USER

You can now set a password for shares and authenticate using that credential. I suggest you map a network drive and set the password for the mapping, you then will not have to remember the password
