I cannot get rhythmbox to play radio stations such as PRI.

I enter the URL of the radio station I want to hear but I keep getting error mesages such as "not supported by this element". How can I get radio stations to play on rhythmbox?

Are you using something like http:// or mms:// ?

Can you show us which URL are you using ?

In rhythmbox go to Radio -> New Internet Radio Station -> Write the URL

Thanks for your help. Here are two examples of the URL that I have
entered: www.subdaybaroque.org and www.pri.org.

ok these Url doesnt work because are html link to use in a browser.

You need find out the streming radio link. You can use firefox plugin to listen radio from the browser after you find out wich one is the link you can use these in the rhythmbox.

Again, thank you for your help. I obtained the URL and it is
http://148.166.128.100:8300. When I put that in to rthythmbox I
received the following error message:"Couldn't start playback. You do
not have a decoder installed to handle this file. You might need to
instal the necessary plugins." As you can probably figure out, I'm new
to Linux and I do not know how to get the plugins. Can you advise me?

should you try this mms://union.impsat.net.ve/Mega ?

just to check if your rhythmbox is working ok

I went to the link you provided and downloaded all the required files.
The player worked and then I tried Rhythmbox and it too worked. Thank
you for all your help. I will now go to the other link you provided to
say that this problem is solved.
